Das rollende Insektarium  - eine Reportage ...................................................

A report about a mobile exhibition on insects. Beside useful information on the enormous variety of species, the confrontation with living tropical beetles, walking sticks, millipeds, and a tarantula will stay in mind for a longer time.

Dobsonflies of the genus Corydalus are wide spread in America. A new species from Venezuela, found by R. Wanninger, Germany, was described by the Mexican specialist A. Contreras-Ramos. This article reports its discovery and gives an over-view on the family Corydalidae, which does not occur in Europe.

Erfassung der Insektenfauna der Nürnberger Kaiserburg für das Projekt "Lebens-raum Burg" im Rahmen der Umsetzung der Bayerischen Biodiversitäts-strategie ..................................................................................................

93

Despite the fact that the castle of Nuremburg is surrounded by the densely built-up central city and the fate of being explored (or better overrun) day by day  by thousands of tourists from all over the world, the investigation of the insect fauna cited 447 different species out if all insect orders. Among them are even 25 endangered species, Apparently these have found their ecological niche and survive within the fortress’ walls. The article is documenting a hitherto unknown fauna and tries to give hints how to support the insect’s living in the near future.

Insekten im Nahrungsspektrum der Bachforelle (Pisces: Salmo trutta) .............

141

Fishing on trout is a personal challenge. Even greater is the pleasure in the case of success. The average strategy is the use of artificial flies. The natural ones represent the main catch picked up at the water’s surface. A trout with pink flesh was caught. This is a consequence of an uptake of Astaxanthin, a substance produced by small brook-crab. They must have been a main part in the food. And this means, the trout fed mainly on insects and plankton-organisms. The stomach proved to be filled up with well preserved different insects that made a species’ determination possible. It brought new data about the insect fauna of the land the river is running through.

There are a lot of foreign species being released by sensitive people or arriving Europe for instance with cargo from somewhere in the world. Certain representatives are so aggressive that they can conquer whole continents in a very short time. They are called “Neobiota”. The article tells about remarkable observations within the last few weeks
